It’s an intimidating task, and one that many people have struggled with for decades.

Barbershops have become a fixture of the city’s skyline and, despite a steady stream of new restaurants and boutiques, barbershops remain an important part of its daily routine.

But what is it like for someone who just wants to get a haircut, and can’t find a salon?

We spoke with three barbers who had their first brush with the task.
